Rod Waters
In March 1993 with a handful of around 7 people, Rod and his wife Wendy ventured out to start a new church. It all began in a university lecture theatre and has now grown to a congregation of over 200 people meeting in the heart of Joondalup Business Park.
Pastor Rod is passionate about building strong local churches. His vision is to see people make the decision to follow Jesus and to equip and establish Christians to release their full potential and gifting. Through his outstanding communication skills and incredible leadership, his vibrant personality and practical teachings have helped to build the lives of many.
Rod has been in ministry for over 25 years. Over this time he has seen hundreds of people’s lives impacted through his ministry. In this time he has planted two successful churches and been invited to minister in several different countries around the globe. He's also an accomplished musician and artist, painting inspiring landscapes in his spare time.
Wendy Waters
Pastor Wendy Waters is the kind of person that brightens up the room when she enters it. She's a savvy business woman, with the establishment of the Joondalup Academy of Performing Arts - one of Perth’s premier dance schools. She's a loving mother, a brilliant pastor and an inspiring teacher.
Wendy’s warm and loving demeanour as well as her entrepreneurial spirit has given her much influence within the local community and has enabled her to partner with her husband Rod to build Christian City Church Joondalup.
Her passions lie in redeeming the arts back to God. She believes that one of her missions in life is to help people of all walks of life to find what their creative talents are. Wendy is also passionate about seeing women empowered through the local church, having helped many women overcome low self esteem issues and through the power of God, ministers in amazing ways to the hearts of many women through her ministry.
Her strengths lie in powerful prophetic teaching, seeing people be inspired for God and her vision is to see people motivated to be who God has created them to be.
Wendy established the Joondalup Academy of Performing Arts in 1998. Since then JAPA has now grown to a full scale performing arts school, and carries over 500 students, specialising in all aspects of performance from toddlers through to young adults.
Rod and Wendy live on the coast in the City of Sunsets, Perth, WA. They have 5 adult children, three of which are married to amazing partners. They are both also very proud grandparents to Tahj, Coco, Elijah, Savannah and Orlando.
