Our History

Our church started in March 1993 in a rented Auditorium at a local university by our founding Pastors, Rod & Wendy Waters with their five children and a handful of visitors. Through building a church with quality leadership, an empowering and caring atmosphere and through being a soul winning church, the 150 seat auditorium was quickly filled and after several moves in rented accommodation in 2001, we purchased our own facilities in the heart of Joondalup, Perth, which we have amazingly converted into a 450 seat theatre/arts complex. Over the last 10 years our church has grown and touched hundreds of lives for Christ both locally and internationally in Sri Lanka, India, Singapore, Bhutan and Nepal. In 1997 we launched the Joondalup Academy of Performing Arts, or 'JAPA'. Each week 400 students are trained in dance, drama, theatre and singing. We believe in redeeming the arts and our motto is Dream, Believe Achieve. Parents can bring their children into a safe environment where their values are respected in a caring positive place. We also launched our community service program Soul Link, our welfare arm, committed to feed the needy of the northern suburbs. This was expanded in 2004 with new freezers and cool rooms being erected at our Winton Road premises enabling us greater distribution of food. Our church building has undergone extensive refurbishment since we moved in and has been made possible by the generosity of our members and local businesses, to whom we are very grateful. The continuing upgrade in 2004 saw the carpeting of the auditorium, a permanent stage, a European style café seating 100 that is now open to the public, as well us upgrades to our already exceptional sound, stage and lighting equipment. Since then, extensive landscaping has also completed around the grounds of the building, including a secure “MacDonalds” style playground for children.

Our Present

Our church currently has seen a dedicated leadership team gather to the vision of Rod and Wendy Waters.
More than ever we are seeing people from all walks of life get behind the cause of our church, doing what they can do according to their gifts and talents to build the kingdom of God together. With continuing training and empowerment of people we are seeing on a weekly basis people rise up to be who they are in Christ.

Our Future

We are well on the way to building a church in line with the C3i 20/20 vision. We believe CCC Joondalup is called to be a large and influential church and our goal at the moment is to be a church of 500 members. Through positive relationships, quality leadership and empowering people we know that we are well on the way to reaching that goal in the near future.
